Christian Marclay’s ‘The Clock’

Film idea book

'Christian Marclay's The Clock. It was published (way back) in 2010 when the film of the same title was first shown. The film is a 24 hour long sequence of hundreds of archive clips in which the time is visually referenced. We rarely use formal accolades in these emails, but it is a masterpiece. The clips are edited in chronological order and the film is started at the time shown on the cover of the book: one o'clock. If you are in a screening and the time in a clip from The Maltese Falcon says 6.30pm, you glance at your watch and it is 6.30pm. The film is a clock. The book is a superbook.'

Haven't watched this film. but read this book first as tutor mentioned.

Talking about my memory, my past, my personal life. I shall bring 'time' into this section.

We all know that everything and every moment we just go through is based on time.Time becomes the things that can tie our life together. Then how can we link our life to time? I shall say memory. When we remermber, think about the thing that belongs to our memory. We realize that time that we just went through, It become a proof of our life. And It is the one that lead and bring us to the future. One said, time controls and regulates our life. I shall say yes. Time shows everywhere. The human life itself is a kind of clock which is full of minutes.I cannot imagein one's life which can escape from the time. Every species's time has continuity. And every minute of this continuity become our memory. There is a chain between individual, time and memory. Human base on time, andn memory cannot exist without human. So in this way, time can not be seperated by memory.

And people sometims will feel hopeless about the time." We look forward to ,dread or aspire to things in the future, just as we can regret or long for thoes of the past."Time always contunes, whatever people do.

Then I have the throught.: We always define time as 'past', 'present' and 'future'. But I noticed that what we have defined as 'present' goes to 'past' quickly. In the same way, the 'future' soon will become our 'present'. In fact, there is no such boundary between past ,present and furture.

Time goes complicatly. It is been defined as three form: symbolic time, imaginary time and real time. It is interesting to hear that time which we can feel will be different from the objective one. It seems that the mental state can actually effect a lot of thing.
